Member Activity Credit Terms
These terms govern the activity credit issued with LITA membership. Members receive activity credit equal to the membership fee actually paid, subject to the conditions below.
1. Eligibility
Activity credit is issued only to current LITA members whose application has been approved by the LITA Committee and whose membership payment has cleared. Applicants and lapsed members do not hold activity credit.
2. Credit amount
Members receive activity credit equal to the annual membership fee actually paid, including where the LITA local-business concession applies. A member paying a concession fee receives credit equal to the concession amount paid, not the standard fee.
3. Activation
Activity credit becomes available when the membership becomes active: after Committee approval, cleared payment and LITA's confirmation. Submitting an application does not create credit.
4. Expiry
Activity credit expires at the end of the membership year in which it was issued. Unused balances do not roll over to a renewed membership year unless the Committee resolves otherwise and notifies members in writing.
5. Eligible and excluded activities
Credit can be redeemed only against LITA activities identified as credit-eligible at the time of registration. Some activities, including externally ticketed events, invitation-only sessions and third-party programs, may be excluded. Eligibility is stated on each activity listing.
6. Capacity and booking
Redemption is subject to capacity, booking conditions and any registration deadlines for the activity. Holding credit does not guarantee a place at any activity.
7. Cancellations and refunds
If LITA cancels or reschedules an activity, credit redeemed for that activity is returned to the member's balance. Where a member cancels a registration, the treatment of redeemed credit follows the cancellation conditions stated for that activity.
8. Unused balances and membership cancellation
If a membership is cancelled, resigned or terminated during the membership year, remaining activity credit lapses on the date membership ends, unless the Committee resolves otherwise. Credit has no residual value after membership ends.
9. Transfers
Activity credit is personal to the member (or, for business members, to the member entity) and is non-transferable unless LITA approves a transfer in writing.
10. Not cash
Activity credit is not cash, is not redeemable for cash, does not accrue interest and is not a deposit, voucher entitlement or financial product.
11. GST and tax
Membership fees and any GST treatment of credited activities are handled in accordance with applicable tax law. Members should seek their own advice on the tax treatment of membership fees and activity credit for their circumstances.
12. Changes to these terms
LITA may amend these terms by Committee resolution. Members will be notified of material changes with reasonable notice before they take effect. Membership and activity credit remain subject to LITA's constitution and governing rules.
