By accessing or using lita.net.au (the “Site”), you agree to these Website Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Site lawfully and not to:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site or its underlying systems;
- interfere with or disrupt the Site’s operation or security;
- submit false, misleading or fraudulent information through any form on the Site, including the membership application or contact form; or
- use the Site to harass, defame or infringe the rights of any person or organisation.
3. Content and intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the text, graphics, logos and other content on this Site are owned by or licensed to LITA and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may view and share content from this Site for personal, non-commercial purposes, but you may not reproduce, modify or distribute it for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.
4. Membership is governed separately
This Site allows you to apply for LITA membership, but using the Site does not itself make you a member. Membership, voting rights and member benefits are governed by LITA’s Constitution and Rules as an incorporated association, not by these Website Terms of Use. Where these terms and LITA’s Constitution or Rules conflict on a matter of membership, the Constitution or Rules prevail. See our Membership page for how to apply.
5. No professional advice
Content on this Site, including advocacy positions, submissions and commentary, is provided for general information only and does not constitute legal, financial or professional advice. You should seek your own advice before relying on it.
6. Links to other websites
This Site may link to third-party websites, including government, media or partner sites. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the content or practices of those sites.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Site available and accurate but do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or continuously available. We may update, suspend or withdraw all or part of the Site, or these terms, at any time.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LITA excludes all liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, this Site. Nothing in these terms excludes any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
